Grandparents Tea Party 2016

Y6 were thrilled to welcome their grandparents to the annual Grandparents' Tea Party held over two days at the school.

The event is an integral part of the children's learning about the period of and just after the second world war.

The unit of work over the past term, as well as researching their own family histories of the period, has included learning about the Kindertransport. They visited the statue marking the initiative at Liverpool Street Station and met with Lord Dubbs, himself one of the 'Kinder' to hear about his role in motivating the government to support child refugees today.
