School Life

Enjoying a healthy lunch

The School Day

The morning has a ‘soft start’ meaning that children can arrive any time from 8.40. Children in Reception and Key Stage One finish at 3.15pm and in Key Stage Two the day ends at 3.45pm, except on a Friday and before chagim, when the whole school finishes earlier. Younger siblings of children in Key Stage Two have the option of attending ‘waiting class’ in the half hour before Key Stage Two finishes.

Healthy Eating

We are committed to teaching the children about healthy lifestyles and try to follow this through in all aspects of school life. We have a very good school kitchen where healthy kosher meat meals are cooked fresh every day. The majority of our children take advantage of, and indeed, relish, having a wide choice of healthy and appetising meals. Fruit is provided for pupils in Reception and Key Stage One at morning break, and all children are encouraged to bring in healthy choices for their break time snacks. We advise every child to have a water bottle in class, which they are encouraged to refill during the day.

The school is nut and sesame-free, and we aim that all children, teachers and parents are allergy-aware.
