Akiva School

Akiva School

Akiva Birthday Books scheme

It has been a longstanding Akiva tradition for families to donate a new book to the school library around the time of their child's birthday. Entirely optional, it is a lovely way for children to introduce their friends to a book that they have enjoyed and for the library to remain well-stocked at a time when funding may not otherwise allow.

We are have created a book list which is regularly updated and can be seen below.

Of course children are also welcome to choose any book which may be suitable for their friends; it does not have to be one from the list.

Each book will be inscribed with the name of the child who has donated it. The book titles and names of the donors will be read out in Key Stage Assemblies and mentioned  in the Headteacher's newsletter weekly (unless parents request otherwise).

If you are donating a book please bring it into the school office and hand in to the reception so that we can write in the inscription and make a record of the book and by whom it was donated.
